We need volunteers to help us spot banded pelicans at the Sebastian Inlet. Since January of 2026, we have been banding our pelican patients we release back at the Sebastian Inlet. We want to learn about what happens to the pelicans after they are rehabilitated. These sightings help us determine their success and habits, which in turn improve our rehabilitation protocols. We will need help surveilling the birds at the park and documenting observations on the banded individuals. Anyone can report to us a banded pelican that they see, but having trained volunteers allows for more thorough and consistent data.
